3.12 Digital Footprint

These days, it is very common for landlords to “Google” rental applicants. That’s why it’s a good idea for you to Google yourself before submitting an application.  You want to be sure there is no information about you on the internet that could ruin your chances of securing a tenancy.

What does the internet say about you? Do you have Facebook posts, Twitter comments or Instagram photos that some people might find offensive? Should some of your privacy settings be more restricted? If there is information on the internet that may cause a landlord to decline your rental application, take a proactive approach to delete content or restrict access.
